I narrowly missed the filming of scenes for the latest Marvel Comics film, Avengers: Infinity War, on my recent trip to Scotland.

I often stop near St Abbs, where filming took place. It’s a lovely little fishing village, somewhere I’ve photographed a number of times. They transformed the house shown opposite into a pub called The Cormorant and Tun.

I heard in the local pub that if you owned a boat in the harbour that didn’t have the right look for the film you were paid £500 to move it for the day. Good work if you can get it!

The herring gull nest below was photographed on a house on the opposite side of the harbour.

Scenes were also shot at Cove harbour (pictured below), again, another place I love to take photos.

The film stars actors such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson. I had dreams of being an extra, my portrayal of a chimney sweep in a school concert still doesn’t get talked about to this day.
