I have a number of photography talks I give to camera clubs and other interested groups and societies.

Topics covered include:

  • Landscape photography
  • Drone photography and video
  • Wildlife photography and video
  • Macro photography
  • Still life photography using flash
  • Aviation photography
  • Architectural photography

A bit about me

I’m a freelance graphic designer and photographer, who loves the outdoors. I’ve achieved success in both British Wildlife Photography Awards and the Take a View Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards; that might just mean I’m lucky as opposed to being any good! but have a route around my site and judge for yourself.

Photography talks

1. Up high, down low

Landscape photography from a tripod to a drone 400 feet high. A mix of images from the Lake District (one of my favourite destinations) and other places around the UK. I’ll talk about my approach to landscape photography, how to make the most of a scene and my move into drone photography and video.

2. Easy wildlife photography

Featuring wildlife photos and video from around the UK. I used to think you needed to be a real wildlife expert (which I’m not) to achieve great images. This talk demonstrates how, with only basic skills, you can achieve great results.

From my back garden to uninhabited islands, you’ll see an array of species, most of which are pretty easy to photograph. Camera settings accompany each image to give you an idea of what it would take to capture a similar shot.

3. The Full Monty

Predominantly wildlife and landscape photography, but also including drone, aviation, macro and architectural images, this talk aims to have something for everybody. It also includes videos taken with a DSLR and drone.

You’ll hear the stories behind the images, what I was hoping to achieve and how I went about it. As a helpful guide, camera settings accompany each image.

4. The Full Monty II

As with the original Full Monty, this talk is designed to appeal to a wide audience and covers similar areas of photography, with the addition of still life photography and the use of speedlights.

There are the usual stories behind the shots and plenty of tips and inspiration to help you get the most out of your photography.

5. The Full Monty III

…you guessed it, another broad talk with wide appeal!

There’s the usual landscapes, wildlife, still life, events and transport (trains). I also go into more depth about how I process my images (Lightroom and Photoshop).

If you’ve already seen a Full Monty talk (and liked it) then I’m sure you’ll like this one too. As a helpful guide, camera settings accompany each image.

    Camera club talk reviews

Below are a couple of reviews my photography talks have received.

On behalf of the club committee and its members I would like to pass on their thanks and appreciation for an excellent evening. A very inspirational talk appreciated by our members and your associated images were excellent. Barnstaple Camera Club would have no hesitation in recommending your talk to other camera clubs.

Stay safe Steven, and all the very best from the members and the committee.
