Hello. I’m a freelance graphic designer, illustrator, CGI artist and photographer who likes to point a camera at the natural world and other stuff. This website is mostly about my photography, but I do deviate at times.
Through working with commercial photographers, as an art director, I became more interested in taking my own photographs. Over the years I have combined my love of photography with that of the outdoors. My work’s been featured in a number of magazines and I’ve also picked up an award or two. Although largely focused around the outdoors, I often work in other areas of photography too.
For me, shooting video was a natural progression as a photographer. If something looks good enough to photograph, then it often looks good on video too. I’ve been lucky enough to be highly commended twice in the video category of the British Wildlife Photographer Awards. You’ll see a number of videos dotted around this site from my various travels.
I used to use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create images from scratch or retouch existing photography. This can be slow and restrictive, so I taught myself 3D software which could improve the overall look of my work and give me more control. A background in photography is a great help when it comes to composition and lighting.
Branding, brochures, advertising, artwork, art direction, packaging, exhibitions, retouching, websites; I’ve worked in most areas of creative design over the years. I have a dedicated design website at www.fairbrother.me.uk/creative
Being able to draw from an early age is what lead me into a career as a graphic designer. I now use these skills to create digital illustrations for clients and my own projects.
